All eleven departments of the Division of Student Engagement and Success provide support services, resources, and engagement opportunities.

Learning Domains

The programs, services, and initiatives of the Division of Student Engagement and Success are directed toward helping students develop essential competencies within the following domains:

  • Community Engagement (e.g. civic involvement, community service, campus life, involvement, positive residential communities, etc.)
  • Intellectual Engagement (e.g. problem solving, critical thinking, theory-to-practice, awareness of current issues, cultural awareness, etc.)
  • Personal and Interpersonal Development (e.g. emotional intelligence, building and sustaining relationships, conflict management, identity development, self-advocacy, appreciation of diversity, etc.)
  • Professional And Life Skills Development (e.g. leadership skills, public speaking, event planning, financial well-being, time management, job attainment skills, office skills, etc.)

Additionally, we strive to help students develop a commitment to social justice as they grow in their capacity to demonstrate their competencies.

Camp Oh-Wooo

Meet fellow Bishops at this six-day experience focused on either city, challenge, wilderness, or service. Here, you and other first-year students learn about community and leadership.

Student Involvement Office

Want to jumpstart a new club? Fundraise at a football game? Maybe plan a fun event on the JAY? The Student Involvement Office helps get you engaged and connected across campus.

Service Fair

An annual tradition of over 20 years, Ohio Wesleyan's Service Fair has scores of opportunities to serve with community volunteer agencies, non-profit organizations, and more.

A Club for Everyone

Want to be more involved, but don't know what to do? From a cappella to ultimate frisbee to horseback riding, the real challenge will be choosing.

Spring Break Interfaith Service Trips

The Chaplain's Office partners in community service through hosting multiple opportunities for Spring Break Interfaith Service Teams. This team of students traveled to New Orleans to learn and serve in the lingering effects of Hurricane Katrina.

Community Service Learning

We want to encourage you in service, creativity, and hard work. You can choose the best service experience fit: Habitat for Humanity, The Columbus Initiative, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or plenty more.

Struggling with academic or interpersonal challenges? Counseling Services works to assist with personal and professional development in order to optimize your college experience and goals.

Campus Safety

Located in the heart of residential campus, Public Safety is dedicated to informing the campus about safety issues and providing a safe living and learning environment.

Residential Life

A lot of what you learn in college happens outside the classroom, including through community living. ResLife helps with campus living arrangements, transitioning into independent living, and living problems.

Student Health Services

Although Health Services' main responsibility is medical service, the staff believes your total physical and emotional health is key to a successful college career.

SLU Life

Small Living Units are a major part of Ohio Wesleyan's commitment to fostering an inclusive residential community. From environmental and women's issues to world languages & cultures, there's a SLU for almost everyone.

First Gen

Are you a first-generation college student? OWU's First Gen program offers guidance through any educational, financial, or social backgrounds in collegiate life.

Spectrum Resource Center

The Spectrum Resource Center works to help provide LGBTIQA persons, their friends, their families, and allies with tools to address LGBTIQA-related issues and to assist in educating the campus community at large.

International Queer Film Festival

In 2017, OWU's first International Queer Film Festival was launched to showcase acclaimed cinema from around the globe and create an opportunity to discuss LGBTQ issues.

Cultural Clubs & Organizations

One of the many cultural student organizations, Horizons International, hosts Culture Fest to promote cultural awareness in with international food, dance, and performances.
