More InformationThe Woltemade Center for Economics, Business, & Entrepreneurship, a pivotal center at Ohio Wesleyan since 1985, enhances teaching, learning, research, and community service beyond the walls of the traditional classroom. Our mission is to enhance academic programs and provide real-world opportunities to create future generations of business and world leaders.
To provide access to resources, knowledge, and experiences that will enhance and improve upon a strong liberal arts education.
The Center allows us to provide holistic programs delivered by a variety of experts including professors, business leaders, and alumni, in and outside of the classroom, to students and community members.
Co-curricular relevant, dynamic and current programming that meets the modern expectations and needs of the students with the purpose of serving as a recruiting tool for the department and university.
Innovation, relevance, collaboration, ethical business practices, and study.
By providing resources and opportunities to put theory into practice, connecting students to the real world.
The Woltemade Center and the OWU Connection provides the ideal mix of broad knowledge, critical-thinking skills, and practical experience to prepare you for your first job and a successful career. Read about our graduating seniors and where they're heading next!
Students will benefit from these programs by participating in academic activities outside of the traditional classroom space, professional development activities, and both domestic and international travel-learning experiences funded by The Woltemade Center.
Beyond Ohio Wesleyan's already generous financial aid, The Woltemade Center and Economics Department are pleased to offer several outstanding scholarships and grants.
Because internships have become a prerequisite for even entry-level jobs in business, The Woltemade Center actively encourages and assists students in the pursuit of internships locally, nationally, and internationally.
The Woltemade Center Lecture Series at OWU is an enriching program that serves both students and the community, with a particular focus on topics related to economics, business, and entrepreneurship. By inviting esteemed scholars, industry leaders, and innovative thinkers, this series sparks engaging discussions and offers diverse perspectives on the dynamic world of economics and entrepreneurship.
The participation and support of Ohio Wesleyan alumni have played a substantive role in the Woltemade Center's growth and success since its inception in 1985. We are gratified by their belief in our program as evidenced by their gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
OWU graduates leave with knowledge, experience, and a hunger to change the world—a combination that excites employers and graduate schools. Our graduates land in top graduate programs, get good jobs, and have the far-reaching perspectives to keep on learning and the broad-based skills to move up the ladder.
