Camp Description

Discover your passion in the performing arts, train your talent as a musician, and make beautiful memories on Ohio Wesleyan’s scenic campus in Delaware, Ohio. Expert guidance from our staff helps students succeed in large ensemble rehearsals every day at camp in band, choir, or orchestra.

Students in grades 6-12 participate in a main ensemble based on their experience level (band, choir, or orchestra) plus a menu of elective activities to tailor a unique camp around their interests with options like jazz band, rock band, chamber strings, drumline, music theater, conducting, composition, music appreciation, and private lessons.

The week concludes on Friday afternoon with a PATIO CONCERT featuring the drumline and rock bands, followed by THREE Grand Finale Concerts in separate venues for strings, choir, and bands.

DAY CAMP ($375) includes 5 days, 5 meals, expert instruction, health care, camp t-shirt, plus a lot of fun, friends, and music. Daily check-in begins June 17, 2024 at 8:00 AM. Daily check-out is at 4:30 PM.

OVERNIGHT CAMP ($800) includes supervised OWU dormitory lodging beginning Sunday, June 16 at 6 PM with check-in, orientation and evening activities. 14 meals begin with Monday breakfast on 6/17 through Friday lunch on 6/21. Please plan dinner on your own before arriving on Sunday, 6/16.

Activity Selection Process

  1. Choose Your Large Ensemble
All campers will participate in a large ensemble with two rehearsals each day. Students should select the most appropriate genre for their age group and experience level in band, choir, or orchestra.
  2. Choose Your Electives
Students may participate in different music electives selected from a variety of performance activities and music classes. Please apply soon! Some electives have prerequisites and will fill to capacity earlier than large ensembles.
  3. Private Lesson Option (additional $30 per lesson, maximum 2 lessons per student)
For students seeking specialized instruction, a 30-minute lesson with applied music faculty is a popular option. Lessons are available on voice and all ensemble instruments, plus piano and guitar. Students are welcome to bring music they’re currently working on, but instructors will have a variety of music and activities as well.
