One of the most common questions we get is about off-peak parking. Specifically, where and when. Read on to learn more!

Where & When

Off-peak parking is permissible is in most (but not all) employee E spaces and commuter C spaces. Pay special attention for "restricted 24/7" attached to E signs (read below).

  • Allowed Monday-Friday 3:30pm through 8:00am (the next day)
  • Allowed Saturday and Sunday all day

An example would be you show up at the Edwards Gym at 3:45pm and leave your car until 7:30am the next morning. In this example, your car is ok to be in the E space that entire time, provided it's moved before 8:00am.

Restricted 24/7

We mentioned this above, but pay attention to "Restricted 24/7" signs directly below the zone sign. If you see those words, it means the parking space or parking area you're looking at is unavailable for off-peak parking.

Restricted 24/7 spaces exist because some places on campus have employees that work around the clock or have exceptionally early arrival times on campus. The Smith parking lot is one such example, with food service and housekeeping staff using the lot at all hours.
