‘With Justice for All’
Morris Dees, founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, spoke to a packed house March 23 in Ohio Wesleyan University’s Gray Chapel. He delivered the 17th annual Butler A. Jones Lecture on Race and Society. Dees told the crowd that the United States has experienced an increase in hate groups since the election of President Barack Obama. But, Dees said, he has hope for the future because of the strong commitment of OWU students and other young people to issues of social justice. In time, he predicted, they will have a transformational story to share. “One of you will tell your story,” he told the students. “One of you will write a book—it’ll probably be on Kindle or something—about America’s greatest generation.”
