‘Where Passion Meets Opportunity’

The newest residence on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus means business—literally.
Opened this fall, the Bigelow-Reed House, 23 Williams Drive, combines learning and living for students interested in the business world. Not only do the students live together, but they also are able to network and interact with lecturers and others who stay in the house’s guest accommodations.
The student-residents held a campus gathering August 28 and the Development Office is planning a formal dedication during Homecoming and Family Weekend at 10:30 a.m. on October 1.
Senior Shane Wepprich of Chillicothe, Ohio, was a strong supporter of the Bigelow-Reed House concept and became an important part of getting the house established.
“Our goals are to help take passionate students and give them the opportunity to excel in their pursuit of a career,” Wepprich said.
Not only will the house provide a relevant living and learning experience for OWU students, but the students also want to reciprocate and give back with a philanthropic project.
“This house project will be selected by the members and executed throughout the year,” Wepprich said.
The Bigelow-Reed House is named after two OWU alumni, William F. Bigelow, Class of 1905, and John Reed, Hon. 2004, and is located in the former Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house.
With the motto “Where Passion Meets Opportunity,” this new living space is a welcome addition to the OWU campus and curriculum.
