Video Vault
Since the Official Ohio Wesleyan University YouTube Channel was launched last fall, the site has grown to include 64 videos which have been viewed more than more than 21,600 times.
Many of the videos—primarily featuring campus activities and events —were produced by OWU students under the guidance of Linda O’Horo, assistant director of media and community relations.
This year Christina Fesz ’12 is working regularly to produce videos for the Official OWU YouTube channel. Links to these videos also are included in weekly editions of Connect2 OWU. Fesz of North Olmsted, Ohio, obtained her video shooting and editing expertise through the Ethnographic and Documentary Film and Filmmaking class taught each fall by Sociology-Anthropology Professor Mary Howard and Chuck Della Lana, AV Services manager.
Over the summer, a new YouTube Channel, OWU Academe, was linked to the original OWU YouTube channel to spotlight videos created by students for academic projects.
Currently, this site includes a video about Mexican migration created by Emily Hastings ’10 and Tory Schlaudt ’13, and a video created by Lauren Spavelko ’11 that outlines her summer theory to practice trip with other OWU music students and Assistant Professor of Music Jason Hiester to the Salzburg Music Festival in Austria.
Faculty members and students are encouraged to contact O’Horo to suggest videos for inclusion on the OWU Academe or the OWU YouTube channel. (Videos may not contain copyrighted music or other copyrighted elements.)
Visit the OWU Academe YouTube channel and the Official OWU YouTube Channel.
A number of videos currently are being created by students following various theory to practice summer trips. Watch for more information in future editions of Connect2 OWU!
