‘Such Stuff as Dreams Are Made on’
A group of Ohio Wesleyan students traveled to England with professor Zack Long to study “Shakespeare and the Sites of Performance.” During their Travel-Learning Course, they explored the stages, both actual and improvised, that contributed to Shakespeare’s rise from country player to courtly entertainer.
Of the OWU Connection experience, neuroscience major Ben Arnold ’20 said: “We’re here to learn about Shakespeare’s origin, his past, present, and, even in some ways, his future in the way that he’s being represented today. ... I’m getting to connect with people with different cultures and kind of connect with yourself a little bit more, open your eyes to the rest of the world. It’s wonderful.”
