Ohio Wesleyan University students now have health information right at their fingertips with the addition of a new online student health magazine.

Student Health 101 provides news that is both personal to OWU students, such as a list of campus resources, and general health information. New editions are published on the first and fifteenth of every month.

The idea for providing the online health magazine came from Marsha Tilden ’81, C.N.P., director of Student Health Services. Tilden, a member of the campus Healthy Bishop Initiative (HBI), shared the response other Ohio liberal arts schools where getting from using online health magazines.

After seeing a virtual tour of Student Health 101, the HBI teamed up with WCSA to purchase a year-long subscription for the OWU community.

Senior Christina Trusty, an intern at Student Health Services, was influential in coordinating and promoting the OWU project.

“Hopefully it will become a part of students’ daily lives,” Trusty says. “This is a great resource to find health-related information all in one place.”

Trusty also points out that because Student Health 101 is online, students can access it on any mobile device at their convenience.
