Professor Discusses U.S.-Europe Relations in ‘Foreign Policy’

“Are there major shifts ongoing in between American and Europe? Of course there are – and this is a good thing,” Ohio Wesleyan University professor Sean Kay, Ph.D., writes in a new commentary published by Foreign Policy.
“Not only has the Obama administration handled this shift well,” Kay states, “but it has laid a solid foundation for making the U.S.-Europe relationship sustainable for decades to come.”
Kay, author of “Global Security in the Twenty-First Century: The Quest for Power and the Search for Peace,” says the following achievements illustrate how the United States is “reinvigorating the transatlantic relationship”:
Restoring the goodwill lost in Europe during the Bush administration. Achieving strong consensus among NATO allies to reinvigorate collective defense via theater-based missile defense systems. Maintaining with European allies an effective common front toward ongoing challenges in the Arab world.
