OWU’s Dana Behum to Return to Professional ‘Roots’
Ohio Wesleyan’s Senior Assistant Director of Admission Dana Behum will move across Sandusky Street in mid-December to the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center as the new Assistant Director of Student Involvement for Fraternity and Sorority Life. Behum will also oversee summer orientation for new students.
“I’m very excited to be a bigger part of the student experience,” she says. Before coming to OWU three-and-a-half years ago, Behum earned her master’s degree in education (college student personnel) at Ohio University, where she oversaw NPHC/Black Greek Life in the Office of Multicultural Programs.
While earning her undergraduate degree in communication from Bowling Green State University, Behum joined the Greek community there, and she maintains ties with her Chi Omega sorority sisters. Her husband, Larry, was also in a fraternity. Even now, they regularly see their fraternity and sorority friends.
Behum plans “to work to strengthen the Greek community and to build up current chapters on campus before considering new ones. I also would like to network with the student leaders of each chapter to communicate the good news about their service and other activities.”
Her new office will include a display of her sorority-related memorabilia, which includes many owls—the Chi Omega mascot.
