OWU Metalsmiths Exhibit ‘Strong,’ Critic Says

“The best teachers lead students along a path of self-discovery and individual soul-searching,” critic Christopher A. Yates writes in the Dec. 9 edition of The Columbus Dispatch. “Such is the case in ‘The Soul of Objects,’ on view at the Dublin Arts Council.”
The teacher in this instance is Ohio Wesleyan University fine arts professor Cynthia Cetlin, M.F.A., a member of the OWU faculty since 1987. Cetlin and several of her current OWU students and young alumni are exhibiting their creations through Dec. 21 at the Dublin, Ohio, gallery, 7125 Riverside Drive.
“Cetlin is well-known in the central Ohio arts community for her evocative jewelry,” Yates writes, later noting that: “Each student in Cetlin’s class is at a different state of development. All are building their visual vocabulary through the union of craft and concept.”
