Ohio Wesleyan Welcomes New Class of Economics Management Fellows

Program Seeks to Prepare Next Generation of Business Leaders

Classes hadn’t even started, and Ohio Wesleyan University’s newest group of Economics Management Fellows already was getting down to business.

The 17 fellows and their families were invited to an Aug. 21 luncheon hosted by the Department of Economics and the Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship. During the event, the first-year fellows met faculty members and upperclassmen selected previously for the EMF program. The competitive fellowships are open to students interested in economics, management (marketing and finance), accounting, or international business.

OWU’s newest Economics Management Fellows will have numerous unique opportunities over the academic year. Among other things, they will meet with professors as a small group on a weekly basis to get acclimated, and they will take a course created just for them. They also will meet and learn from successful alumni and mentors.

Their first-year experience will culminate with a fully paid New York study trip at the end of the academic year, where they will visit the New York Federal Reserve and The New York Stock Exchange, as well as meet with OWU alumni and professionals in business and government.

The Economics Management Fellows Class of 2015 (OWU Class of 2019) are Nick Adams of Lexington, Ohio; Will Ashburn of Ostrander, Ohio; Max Balazs of Shaker Heights, Ohio; Sophia Burt of Powell, Ohio; Lydia Cleaver-Bartholomew of Manlius, New York; Sebastien Deguines of Short Hills, New Jersey; Jack Keleher of Medfield, Massachusetts; Liz Knowlton of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; Ethan Lamb of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania; Lyndsay McMullen of Galion, Ohio; A.J.
