Ohio Wesleyan University Appoints Lauri Strimkovsky as Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer
DELAWARE, Ohio – Ohio Wesleyan University has appointed Lauri Strimkovsky, M.B.A., as its vice president for finance and administration and treasurer. Strimkovsky currently is senior vice president for financial affairs and chief of staff at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. She will join Ohio Wesleyan in December.
“Lauri Strimkovsky is a demonstrated problem-solver, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader,” said President Rock Jones, Ph.D. “She comes to us with more than 25 years of successful higher education experience. Lauri will be a vital member of Ohio Wesleyan’s leadership team as we continue to advance our 2020 vision and build long-term financial strength, improve our buildings, grow our endowment, and enhance the Ohio Wesleyan experience for all students, faculty, and staff.”
Strimkovsky joined Chestnut Hill in 2001, serving as the college’s vice president for financial affairs for nearly 10 years before being named senior vice president and chief of staff in 2011. In that role, Strimkovsky oversees all of Chestnut Hill’s financial matters, human resources, facilities management, construction and renovation, and legal affairs.
Like Ohio Wesleyan, Chestnut Hill is a four-year, private liberal arts college. It has an enrollment of more than 1,300 undergraduate and 500 graduate students.
Prior to joining Chestnut Hill, Strimkovsky served as the vice president for finance and administration for Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia; the vice president for operations and finance for Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska; and the business manager of the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis.
Strimkovsky earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She also has completed doctorate-level coursework at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Search committee chair Chris Wolverton, Ph.D., also an Ohio Wesleyan professor of botany-microbiology, said Strimkovsky will be a great fit for the university.
“We had an outstanding applicant pool and were able to bring three excellent candidates to campus to meet and interact with the community,” Wolverton said. “Lauri impressed us with her commitment to students, the depth of her experience, and her thoughtful, collaborative style. We felt she would provide great financial leadership and support in this exciting time of growth here at OWU.”
Strimkovsky said she also looks forward to joining the Ohio Wesleyan family and helping the university to achieve its strategic goals.
“The transformative nature of a liberal arts education is evident at OWU,” she said, “and I am honored to be selected to join the leadership team and contribute toward advancing the mission and ensuring the continued financial sustainability of this wonderful institution.”
