Ohio Wesleyan University Announces March Public Events

Through April 16 – Xiamen photo collage by Susan Shafer, Ohio Wesleyan Class of 1959, in the Alumni Gallery in Mowry Alumni Center, 16 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Feb. 24-March 31 – “Diverse,” a group exhibition featuring creations by seven women artists – Marjorie Bender, N. Penney Denning, Egle Gatins, Elena Osterwalder, Elsie Sanchez, Barbara Vogel, and Leah L. Wong – in the Richard M. Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. The show will debut with an opening reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the museum and feature an artists’ talk panel discussion from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 21 in Room 312 of the R.W. Corns Building, 78 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. The museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., but will be closed March 11-16 for spring break. 8 p.m. March 1 and March 2 – The Ohio Wesleyan Department of Theatre & Dance presents “Spring Senior Project Productions,” in the Studio Theatre in Chappelear Drama Center, 45 Rowland Ave., Delaware. The show includes two one-act plays, one an original written by Andrew Rossi and one by Samuel Beckett. Directed by Andrea Kraus, designed by David Winnyk, featuring Madeline Shier, Leah Reilly, Sam Irvine, and Joe Lugosch.
8 p.m. March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 – Evening programs at Ohio Wesleyan’s Perkins Observatory, 3199 Columbus Pike (U.S. 23), Delaware. Content varies based on sky conditions, but may include a planetarium show, observatory tours, and star gazing with the 32-inch Schottland Telescope. March 4-April 3 – All Student Spring Show, featuring art created by Ohio Wesleyan students, in Gallery 2001 in Beeghly Library, 43 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Gallery hours coincide with library hours.
3:15 p.m. March 3 – The Ohio Wesleyan Department of Music presents Rachel Parfenchuk, soprano, and Joshua Boggs, countertenor, performing their junior recital, in Jemison Auditorium at Sanborn Hall, 23 Elizabeth St., Delaware.
8 p.m. March 5 – The OWU Department of Music presents a faculty recital featuring Gulimina Mahamuti, piano; Jessie Wright Martin, mezzo-soprano; and Selim Giray, violin, in Jemison Auditorium at Sanborn Hall, 23 Elizabeth St., Delaware.

7:30 p.m. March 21 – Panel discussion featuring female artists participating in the Richard M Ross Art Museum’s “Diverse” exhibition, in Room 312 of the R.W. Corns Building, 78 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. The discussion will be moderated by Richelle Schrock, director of Ohio Wesleyan’s Women’s and Gender Studies Program, and will be followed by a panelist reception at the Ross Art Museum, 60 S.
