Ohio Wesleyan University Announces August, September Public Events
DELAWARE, OH – Ohio Wesleyan University today announced its August and September 2012 lineup of public events. Unless otherwise noted, all events are free of charge. Through Sept. 16 – “Checkerboard Musings,” an exhibit of art quilts by Lorraine Torrence, Ohio Wesleyan Class of 1963, in the Alumni Gallery in Mowry Alumni Center, 16 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Through Sept. 20 – Papercut collages and paintings by Louise Captein, associate professor of art at Otterbein University, in Gallery 2001 in Beeghly Library, 43 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Gallery hours coincide with library hours.
Aug. 23-Oct. 7 – “Full of Grace: A Journey through the History of Childhood,” a collection of more than 150 photographs depicting childhood from artists including Dorthea Lange, Gordon Park, August Sander, Ralph Gibson, and Lewis Carroll, in the Richard M. Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. The museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is handicap-accessible and admission is always free.
