Ohio Wesleyan to Host Robert Post Comedy Theater

DELAWARE, Ohio – Ohio Wesleyan University’s Performing Arts Series will present “Robert Post Comedy Theater: The One-Man Variety Show” at 8 p.m. Jan. 18 in Chappelear Drama Center, 45 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Tickets for the one-night-only event are available now.
Post’s performances are a cornucopia of comedy and characters that, according to The New York Times, combine “dry humor, expert mime, versatile acting, skilled juggling, ventriloquism, splendid timing, and keen sense of satire and the absurd,” earning him “a place on anybody’s all-star team of the goofily gifted.”
And, according to Canada’s Edmonton Journal, Post’s shows provide “a witty, bizarre deconstructed vaudeville of stage images the likes of which I feel sure you won’t see again any time soon.”
Post attended The Ohio State University and serves as visiting artist there. He has created more than 30 works, earning him awards and fellowships from organizations including the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council for the Arts, and the Ohio Arts Council. He has taken his one-man performances to 46 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, Russia, the Mediterranean, Japan, and Turkey.
