Ohio Wesleyan to Hold Free Band Concert Jan. 19
DELAWARE, Ohio – Participants in the 49th annual Ohio Wesleyan University President’s High School Band Festival will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Benes Rooms inside Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware.
Ohio Wesleyan’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Park Avenue Jazz Ensemble also will perform during the concert, conducted by professor and renowned trumpeter Larry Griffin, D.M.A.
Before their evening performance, the high school students will participate in the daylong OWU President’s High School Band Festival, which provides learning and scholarship opportunities for high school musicians from Ohio and surrounding states. All students had to audition and be selected by a panel of OWU faculty to participate in the one-day music workshop and concert.
