Ohio Wesleyan to Exhibit Landscape, Skyscape Images of Western United States

DELAWARE, Ohio – Photographer Carter Gowl captures dramatic landscapes and skyscapes of the Western United States, including many images taken in and around Yellowstone National Park.
Gowl’s work will be on exhibit at Ohio Wesleyan University’s Gallery 2001 now through Oct. 15. Gallery 2001 is located inside OWU’s Beeghly Library, 43 Rowland Ave. He will discuss his work at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 9 in the Bayley Room on the library’s second floor. The photography exhibit and artist’s talk are free and open to the public. Gallery hours coincide with library hours and are available online.
Most of Gowl’s photographs are taken in the Beartooth Mountains in Montana and Wyoming, including the northeastern quadrant of Yellowstone National Park. His work has been featured in calendars, national advertisements, and magazines such as Big Sky Journal and Outdoor Photographer.
Gowl’s landscapes and skyscapes feature dramatic lighting and have been described as “echoes of those brief moments of clarity in which we all recognize our inextricable intimacy and unity with the land.”
