Ohio Wesleyan Ranked Among Nation’s Top Colleges For Return On Investment
DELAWARE, OHIO –An Ohio Wesleyan University bachelor’s degree provides a 9-percent annual return on the educational investment over 30 years, according to a new study by Seattle-based PayScale Inc.
During those three decades, Ohio Wesleyan graduates can expect a net ROI of $354,800, after deducting the cost of earning their diplomas and adjusting for graduation rates, the study states.
The findings are part of PayScale’s new 2012 College Return on Investment (ROI) Report, which examines the investment value of bachelor’s degrees earned at 853 colleges and universities nationwide.
To determine ROI, PayScale analyzed its database of 35 million career profiles. Only bachelor’s degree data from full-time employees was used for the report. At Ohio Wesleyan, more than 50 percent of graduates pursue advanced degrees – such as master’s, doctoral, or law degrees – within five years of their OWU commencement.

In 2011, PayScale also listed Ohio Wesleyan among the nation’s Top 20 liberal arts colleges for salary potential for mid-career graduates. That same report listed Ohio Wesleyan among the nation’s top colleges – public and private – for earning potential for graduates both five years and 15 years after receiving their bachelor’s degrees.
