Ohio Wesleyan Professor is ‘Dr. Know’ about James Bond

Michelle Disler

DELAWARE – “Though perhaps an obvious beginning, I can’t help but start here: How many of the Bond books have you read, and how many of the Bond films have you seen?” writer J.A. Tyler asks Ohio Wesleyan University’s James Bond expert Michelle Disler.

Disler, Ph.D., an assistant professor of English and author of “[BOND, JAMES]: alphabet, anatomy, [auto]biography,” shares her thoughts in a new interview published online by the literary journal Monkeybicycle.

“I’ve read them all, and I’ve seen them all, and all of them more times than I should probably admit,” Disler tells the writer.

She also explains how the secret agent reminds her of her father; how Bond became the focus of her doctoral dissertation; and which Bond books, movies, and actors are her favorites.
