Ohio Wesleyan Performing Arts Series to Feature Chamber Music Ensemble

DELAWARE, Ohio – Conundrum, a contemporary chamber music ensemble, will present a concert April 23, as part of the 2013-2014 Ohio Wesleyan Performing Arts Series. The performance will include original works created by OWU students in assistant music professor Jennifer Jolley’s composition studio.
Conundrum – featuring Mary Elizabeth Southworth, soprano; Danielle Hundley, flute; Marianne Breneman, clarinet; and Philip Amalong, piano – will perform at 8 p.m. April 23 in Jemison Auditorium inside Ohio Wesleyan’s Sanborn Hall, 23 Elizabeth St., Delaware.
According to the group, Conundrum “was born of the idea that a chamber music ensemble built on friendship and mutual respect combined with expansive virtuosity and a love for communication will captivate an audience.”
And the group, indeed, captivates, says Jim McCutcheon, director of concerts for the Dayton Art Institute. “Each piece is an exquisite diamond with each musician one of its facets, finding the perfect fit, with a luster that is clear and polished,” McCutcheon states.

Tickets for Conundrum are $20 for general admission and $5 for senior citizens and non-Ohio Wesleyan students (with a valid school ID).
