Tickets for Bell’s March 28 Concert on Sale Now; Powell’s Liberty Deep Down to Open

DELAWARE, Ohio – Actor-turned-musician Drake Bell, best known for his starring role in Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh,” will perform March 28 at Ohio Wesleyan University’s first Bishop Bash. Powell-based rockers Liberty Deep Down will kick off the concert.

Since shifting his focus to music, Bell, 28, has recorded three studio albums, the most recent being 2014’s “Ready Steady Go!”

Bell told Billboard magazine that his first two albums, 2005’s “Telegraph” and 2006’s “It’s Only Time,” were influenced by the Beatles and the Beach Boys with their power-pop arrangements, but that he wanted “Ready Steady Go!” to represent “a modern throwback record – like an Amy Winehouse or a Bruno Mars [album], but even more stripped-down rock-and-roll.” The album’s executive producer is Brian Setzer, former front man of the Stray Cats and The Brian Setzer Orchestra.

Critics have praised “Ready Steady Go!” stating: “The album has a vintage rock feel with a cool, poppy edge that’s sure to appeal to just about any listener.” In addition to his three studio albums, Bell also co-wrote and performed the “Drake & Josh” theme song, “I Found a Way.”
