NCAA Article Features OWU’s First Family of Field Hockey

Log on to the National Collegiate Athletic Association website, and a familiar face will be smiling back at you from the rotating feature stories. Make that two faces. Well, make that three.
The article, “Field Hockey Family ‘Sticks’ Together,” features 13-season Ohio Wesleyan field hockey coach Marge Redmond and her family.
As writer Jennifer Gunnels reports: “One daughter, Nikki Wimsatt, serves as her assistant coach for the Battling Bishops. Another daughter, PJ Soteriades, serves as the head coach for conference rival Denison. Meanwhile, Redmond’s eldest son, Gus Soteriades, is a respected umpire at the university and international level who can sometimes be found umpiring the games between Ohio Wesleyan and Denison.”

And as Redmond says, ““They always knew of my passion and affection for the game. I think it’s genetic.”
