National Recording Artists Hellogoodbye, Lloyd to Perform at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, OHIO – The power pop band Hellogoodbye and R&B/hip-hop artist Lloyd will headline Ohio Wesleyan University’s Crossroads concert at 7 p.m. March 31 in Gray Chapel inside University Hall, 61 S. Sandusky St.
The Crossroads event, formerly known as SpringFest, also will feature an OWU student “Battle of the Bands” winner – with the winner yet to be determined – and a student step show to raise funds for the OWU Student Union on Black Awareness’s Student Retention Fund.

Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Hellogoodbye released its first album, “Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!,” in 2006, achieving success with the sunny love song “Here in Your Arms.” The band’s latest album, “Would It Kill You?,” is described by promoters as a collection of “perfect pop gems.”
Band frontman Forrest Kline has said Hellogoodbye’s new album focuses on songwriting more than production. “We did our first record in my living room with a laptop and for this new record I tore down my garage to build a studio so I could record there,” Kline said. “It was a great situation because I could stay up all night and mess around with stuff and not have any pressure to watch the clock or please anyone except myself.”
Sharing the stage at Ohio Wesleyan’s Crossroads concert will be Georgia native and R&B/hip-hop artist Lloyd. His first solo album, 2004’s “Southside,” included the title-track duet with Def Jam label-mate Ashanti. His second album, 2007’s “Street Love,” generated the hits “Get it Shawty” and “You,” featuring rapper Lil’ Wayne. Lloyd’s latest album is 2011’s “King of Hearts.”
