National Recognition
DELAWARE, Ohio – The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), one of the nation’s largest advocacy organizations for women, recently recognized College Panhellenic organizations at 33 colleges and universities nationwide including Ohio Wesleyan University.
College Panhellenics, which are cooperatives comprised of all sororities on a campus, are scored on seven criteria, including those of value to college campuses such as academics, programming, and community relations.
“NPC received scores of nominations to recognize the outstanding work and achievements of undergraduate sorority women working together,” said Nicki Meneley, executive director of the conference. “These awards are given to those who are following the exemplary standards for Panhellenic women.”
Ohio Wesleyan’s College Panhellenic earned one of NPC’s College Panhellenic Achievement Awards.
“Your campus has been selected to receive a College Panhellenic Achievement Award for the 2012-2013 academic year,” according to the NPC award letter. “The Conference is proud to acknowledge your efforts to meet the core competencies and excel at five of the seven core functions: recruitment, Panhellenic structure, communication with NPC area advisor, judicial procedures, Panhellenic programming, academics and Panhellenic community impact and relations.”
The National Panhellenic Conference, one of the nation’s largest organizations advocating for women, is the umbrella group for 26 national and international sororities present on more than 600 college campuses.
