Ken Massar discusses learning about the arts – “I went to college a pure Philistine — I didn’t know anything about the fine arts” – and his unique style of biomorphic imagery, which fills his paintings of plants with “unconscious features of human forms, little creatures and faces.”

Award-winning educator Nancy E. Peace is named president of the Newburyport, Mass., Friends of the Library. She currently is executive director of the Massachusetts Education Partnership and previously was the first-ever recipient of YWCA of Greater Newburyport’s Nancy E. Peace Action Against Prejudice, named in her honor.

In two presentations in Ireland, politics and government professor Sean Kay discusses American foreign policy as the United States “pivots” its focus from Europe to Asia. Kay, Ph.D., a global security expert, also is the coordinator of OWU’s International Studies Program and director of the Arneson Institute for Practical Politics and Public Affairs.
