Investment Strategist, Ohio Wesleyan Graduate to Discuss Global Economy at Free Sept. 28 Event

DELAWARE, Ohio – “The Global Economy Going Forward: Making Sense of Apparent Nonsense.” Internationally known investment strategist Clark Winter will tackle this timely topic when he speaks Sept. 28 at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Winter, a 1973 OWU graduate, will speak at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Benes Rooms inside the university’s Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware. His presentation, part of Ohio Wesleyan’s annual Robert L. Milligan Leaders in Business Lecture Series, is free and open to the public. Winter is the author of “The Either/Or Investor: How to Succeed in Global Investing, One Decision at a Time,” a book heralded by Publishers Weekly as “an admirably clear and encouraging guide to informed investing that is refreshingly free of jargon, theory or scare tactics. …”
Ian Bremmer, president of the Eurasia Group, also has called Winter “one of Wall Street’s most insightful and honest intellectual brokers.”
Winter is the founder of Clark Winter Enterprises, a global investment research and strategy firm, and he is a frequent guest commentator on CNBC’s “Worldwide Exchange,” CNBC’s “Closing Bell” With Maria Bartiromo, Bloomberg Television, Fox Business Network, New Delhi Television, and CNN en Español’s “Globoeconomía.”
Early in his career, Winter opened offices for J.P. Morgan in Madrid and Mexico City and lived abroad. He subsequently managed investment portfolios for J.P. Morgan globally and became president of Global Asset Management, the world’s first successful multi-manager firm. Next, he founded Winter Capital, an independent, multi-manager advisory firm, which was acquired by Citigroup. At that time, Winter became the chief global investment strategist for global wealth management, including Citigroup Private Bank and Smith Barney. Later, he moved to Goldman Sachs as managing director and director of global portfolio strategy. In 2009, he founded Connecticut-based Clark Winter Enterprises, which he operates today.
Ohio Wesleyan’s Milligan Leaders in Business Lecture Series is presented by the university’s Woltemade Center for Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship. The series was created in 1992 with an endowment from Robert L. “Bill” Milligan and his wife, Mary. The late Bill Milligan was a 1922 Ohio Wesleyan graduate and longtime university trustee.
