Takács and deMaine will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 in Jemison Auditorium inside Ohio Wesleyan’s Sanborn Hall, 23 Elizabeth St., Delaware. Tickets for the All-Beethoven Concert are available now.

In addition to performing, Takács has taught piano at Oberlin College’s Conservatory of Music since 1976. He has contributed guest solo performances to numerous orchestras throughout the United States and around the world and, in 2011, released a critically acclaimed boxed-set recording featuring every keyboard sonata Beethoven ever wrote.

The New York Times has called Takács “a marvelous pianist” whose “command of the instrument is outstanding. His emotional resources are lively and diverse. His musical intelligence is acute.” Learn more at petertakacsplaysbeethoven.com.

Robert deMaine currently serves as principal cello of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and frequently collaborates with world-renowned colleagues in piano, violin, and conducting.

He has composed several pieces for the cello and recorded music for labels including Naxos, Chandos, and Dorian/Sono Luminus. He has been featured on NPR’s “Performance Today,” PBS, the BBC, and more. According to The New York Times, deMaine’s music “makes one hang on every note.” Learn more at www.robertdemaine.com.
