This year and for the first time, Ohio Wesleyan will be participating in “Up ’til Dawn,” a national letter-writing campaign to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event, which takes place on October 21 in the Benes Rooms on campus from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., was organized by students of Ohio Wesleyan who funded the entire program through sponsors, donations, and out-of-pocket contributions.

Registration takes places until October 5 for teams of four to five people. Setting the bar high for their first year, students decided on a fundraising goal of $25,000. Although she thinks the goal is ambitious, Maria del Toro ’11 is not worried about student participation.

“I think OWU’s the type of place where people will step up,” she says.
