Gulimina Mahamuti to Perform Benjamin Britten Piano Concerto, op. 13
MANSFIELD, OHIO – As a guest pianist, Gulimina Mahamuti will perform Benjamin Britten’s Piano Concerto, op. 13 with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra at 7 p.m. April 14 at the Renaissance Theatre. 138 Park Ave. West, Mansfield.
Mahamuti, D.M.A., recently returned to the United States from recitals in Budapest, Hungary, at the invitation of Turkish Ambassador, and in Istanbul, Turkey, at the invitation of the Turkish State Conservatory of Music.
On Jan. 8, she performed at Carnegie Hall, giving the premiere performance of American-Chinese composer Chen Yi’s Variations on “Awariguli.” Mahamuti will perform, lecture, and conduct master classes from May 14 to June 12 at China Conservatory of Music (Beijing), Northwest University for Nationalities (Lanzhou), Xinjiang Institute of Education, Changji College, Ili Normal University, and Karamay City.
Mahamuti, part-time assistant professor of music, teaches applied piano, class piano, and keyboard techniques at Ohio Wesleyan University and chairs piano workshops at Central East District of Ohio Music Teachers Association.
