Ohio Wesleyan University Appoints Joshua Stevens to Help Prospective Students, Families with College Search

DELAWARE, Ohio – Ohio Wesleyan University today announced the appointment of Joshua Stevens as its director of admission. Previously the director of admissions at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, Stevens has 14 years of experience in supporting domestic, international, and transfer students in the college search process.

At Ohio Wesleyan, Stevens will report to Stefanie D. Niles, Ed.D., vice president for enrollment and communications. He will support the university in all aspects of admission, including recruitment and enrollment planning and program development; team-building within the office and among university departments; human resource and budget management; and data collection, analysis, and assessment. He also will work directly with prospective students and families to help them realize their higher education aspirations.

“I am pleased to welcome Josh to the Ohio Wesleyan enrollment and communications team,” Niles said. “He brings strong experience in aiding prospective students and supporting all facets of the admission process, including implementing technology, managing and mentoring admission counselors, and collaborating with colleagues across campus to reach recruitment goals.”

Before joining Earlham in 2016, Stevens worked for four years as the senior assistant director of admissions at the University of Colorado. Prior to that, he worked as an international admissions counselor at the University of Wisconsin, an assistant director of admissions at Lake Forest College in Illinois, and an admissions counselor at Transylvania University in Kentucky.

Stevens also has worked as a high school teacher and coach in Colorado and on the Micronesian Island of Saipan.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, where he also played varsity football. He currently is working to complete a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado-Denver.

Stevens, who will join Ohio Wesleyan on Nov. 7, said he looks forward to becoming a Bishop and to helping future students learn about all of the opportunities available to them at the university.

“This is exciting,” Stevens said. “I am pleased to join the leadership team and the campus community at Ohio Wesleyan, to collaborate with partners across campus, and to create recruitment strategies to pursue OWU’s forward-thinking enrollment goals. I also look forward to sharing the OWU story with prospective students and families looking for a transformational college experience.”
