A Stronger Connection

With the new year comes a new look for Ohio Wesleyan University’s Connect2 OWU online newsletter.

This week we are introducing a new blog format for Connect2 OWU. This transition is the first in a series of planned improvements to enhance the publication.

This format change does more than simply freshen the look of our e-publication. Beginning with this issue, you will be able to post comments and share articles on your Facebook page with one click. We’re excited about this social media integration and hope you use it to offer comments, share personal reflections on the stories you read, and forward content of interest to friends, family, classmates, and colleagues.

This change also improves the efficiency of the behind-the-scenes production of Connect2 OWU. Eventually, stories will be posted as they are written instead of once a week, providing you with more timely information about campus news and events. In addition, the blog format allows us to bring in RSS feeds of all OWU news and athletics press releases, giving you a one-stop resource for news. A link to Events @ OWU, our monthly events calendar, helps to provide a handy list of upcoming public programs.

We have analyzed the past year’s readership data to determine which articles and features appeal most to you and to identify others that are not as widely read. In consultation with University leadership, we have mapped out a plan to create a publication that will better reflect your reading habits and preferences.

We will continue to email you the latest Connect2 OWU headlines and highlights.

We hope you like the new format. It’s a blog, so feel free to let us know what you think!

All the best to you and yours in 2011,

Mark Cooper
