DELAWARE, Ohio – The Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship at Ohio Wesleyan University has selected seven students as 2024-2025 Accounting and Finance Fellows. Being selected as fellows gives the students access to enhanced internship, research, and other opportunities.
Ohio Wesleyan's 2024-2025 Accounting and Finance Fellows are:
- Nia Barjatya of Indore, India
- Christian Begg of Powell, Ohio
- Luisa Duarte of Belo Horizonte, Brazil
- Areli Hernandez of Menlo Park, California
- Connor Morgan of Columbus, Ohio
- Gabe O'Reilly of Westerville, Ohio
- Haley Young of Grove City, Ohio
The fellows participate in faculty-escorted study trips funded by The Woltemade Center to domestic and international locations that have significance to accounting or finance field.
In addition, they complete at least one accounting or finance internship and research project. The research consists of an independent study or directed reading supervised by an OWU professor and an outside accountant or finance professional approved by The Woltemade Center. The fellows document their experiences to show how they connect to theories covered in class.
The Accounting and Finance Fellows also complete an external professional development activity, such as an accounting competition, leadership program or conference, or business tour.
Finally, the fellows have access to funds to enable them to apply for membership in professional organizations tied to their career interests.
