Frequently Asked Questions
After Choosing OWU
What do we do after my student has deposited? How do I activate my OWU email?
Once you have submitted your enrollment deposit, you will receive an email from webadmin@owu.edu within 24-48 hours after your deposit is processed (which occurs only on weekdays). This email will contain important instructions on activating your OWU email account. This is especially important because you will need this username and password to access the Becoming a Bishop Checklist AND to access/submit many essential forms on the checklist. If you cannot locate the email from webadmin@owu.edu, please check your spam and junk folders. We've heard that it can end up there. If you still cannot find it, please contact the OWU Help Desk at helpdesk@owu.edu, and they can resend the email to an email address of your choosing.
How do I access the Becoming a Bishop Checklist?
Click here to access your Becoming a Bishop Checklist. This personalized checklist site includes important items that you, as a new student, must complete before enrollment. Log in using your OWU email account username and password. If you have lost your OWU email account username and/or password or need guided assistance, read "What do we do after my student has deposited? How do I activate my OWU email?" above.
Are there important Orientation events for new students?
Yes! Our programs—Virtual Summer Orientation, Move-In Day, & Camp Oh-Wooo—will prepare you for your next four years. Click here for more information.
Where do we apply for student loans?
To receive Federal Direct loans (the subsidized and unsubsidized loans you may see on your OWU award letter), students must complete an online Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling session using their FSA ID to log in.

How do students learn about jobs on campus (both work-study and non-work-study)?
Students are encouraged to speak with professors, resident advisors, staff, and administrators about job openings. In addition, a job fair is held during the first week of classes at which students meet potential on-campus employers. Visit the job postings page to see what student employment opportunities are available. It's wise for students to accept their first employment offer to begin accruing hours as quickly as possible. Students generally work 8-10 hours per week depending on the on-campus job and their available hours. Students are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week.
