The Nancy Bihl Rutkowski Leadership Fellowship Program enables Ohio Wesleyan students to learn leadership theory and then apply their knowledge by practicing leadership in their communities and observing leadership in the workplace. This program prepares students for the complex challenges facing leaders.
Program Overview
This semester-long, cohort experience includes learning leadership curriculum designed to help students reflect, gain new skills, and collaborate with other student leaders. There are meetings throughout the semester as well as oppourtintes to connect with a professional mentor and on campus coach to support growth and development. The curriculum uses the Social Change Model of Leadership as a framework and CliftonStrengths as a tool to assess students' leadership capabilities. This cohort experience will be offered once a semester starting in fall 2026.
The Nancy Bihl Rutkowski Leadership Fellowship consists of the following components:
- Facilitator-led sessions where students learn leadership theory
- Post-work to help prepare students for the next facilitator-led session and practice leadership
- Professional mentors meetings to discuss various leadership topics
- Coaching sessions where students reflect on the leadership theory and personal skills in a one-on-one setting
