The Nancy Bihl Rutkowski Leadership Fellowship Program enables Ohio Wesleyan students to learn leadership theory and then apply their knowledge by practicing leadership in their communities and observing leadership in the workplace. This program prepares students for the complex challenges facing leaders.
This year long experience begins in the fall, with meetings throughout the semester to review the curriculum. We utilize the Social Change Model of Leadership as a framework and CliftonStrengths as a tool to assess students' leadership capabilities. In the spring semester, students engage in a practicum experience off-campus, where they observe leadership in action. Additionally, each student will be assigned an OWU coach who will support their growth and development throughout the year.
The Nancy Bihl Rutkowski Leadership Fellowship consists of the following components:
"As part of the inaugural cohort for the Nancy Bihl Rutkowski Leadership Fellowship, I have been able to explore the nuances of my character and my potential - as a scholar, a young adult, and a leader in my campus community. Through the intensive and engaging training sessions, we get quality and personalized guidance. I really admire the robust and innovative learning materials that push me to reflect and grow. I also have a coach on campus! As a result, I feel supported in navigating challenges in my leadership roles." - Marvella
