Each year, the Thomas W. Palmer '69 and Susan Palmer Global Scholars Program admits a small number of high-achieving first-year students passionate about global issues. For this competitive, program we seek students eager to immerse themselves in interdisciplinary coursework and embrace international perspectives, regardless of their chosen academic majors.
Benefits of Being a Global Scholar
- You'll become a member a small group of like-minded OWU students interested in world issues and becoming a global citizen.
- As a Global Scholar, you will receive a $4,000 stipend to apply to your study abroad semester (fall or spring) after completing the Global Scholars requirements for years 1 and 2 (see "four-year pathway" below).
- Upon graduation and completion of all Global Scholars requirements, you will receive a certificate and cord at the end-of-year Global Scholars reception.

Students who successfully complete all of the requirements of the Global Studies Institute will graduate with a Global Studies Institute certificate noted on their transcripts.
