Office of Admission Overnight Host Application
Job Description
Research shows that the visit to campus is an integral part of a prospective student’s college selection process. In particular, the overnight stay is a great way for a student to get a “feel” for Ohio Wesleyan University. Overnight hosting is also an excellent opportunity for current students to begin (or continue) involvement in the Office of Admission and can potentially lead to various leadership opportunities, both in the Office of Admission and other campus offices. Being a member of the Overnight Hosting Team (OHT) does not require extensive experience with our office—just a welcoming and positive attitude and a sincere desire to represent OWU and share your experiences. First-year students are encouraged to apply!
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time students at Ohio Wesleyan University in good academic and disciplinary standing. Applicants must live in “on-campus” housing to include: residence halls, small living units, or fraternities. Applicants should possess a variety of qualities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Familiarity with OWU resources, services, and campus buildings
- Pride in OWU and being an OWU students
- Ability to uphold all aspects of the OWU Student Code of Conduct
- A desire to work collaboratively with prospective students, their families, faculty, and staff
- A willingness to learn
- Possess the following role model qualities: maturity, responsibility, initiative, motivation, dedication, flexibility, enthusiasm, integrity, and good work ethic
- Exhibit leadership potential
- Exhibit good interpersonal communication skills
- Be able to interact with a variety of types of people (even if different than yourself)
