Join the Department of English and the Creative Writing Program for the annual Osborne Lecture, featuring Melissa Febos. Febos is the author of the nationally bestselling essay collection, Girlhood, which has been translated into seven languages and was a LAMBDA Literary Award finalist, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism, and named a notable book of 2021 by NPR and Time. Her craft book, Body Work (2022), was a national bestseller, an LA Times Bestseller, and an Indie Next Pick. She is a four-time MacDowell fellow and the recipient of a 2022 Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, a 2022 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship, and the Jeanne Córdova Award from LAMBDA Literary. She is a full professor with the University of Iowa's Nonfiction Writing Program. Following the event, Febos will offer a Q&A and book signing, where books will be available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public.
