Hamilton-Williams Campus Center | Benes Rooms

Join Horizons in celebrating the new year based on the Lunar calendar dating back to the 1046 B.C. It is an event marked by many traditions in Central, East, and Southeast Asia. A special performance from the JING WEI Lion Dance company from Columbus will grace our campus with a traditional 70-foot DRAGON to honor the year of the dragon. Horizons in collaboration with CPB is pleased to bring this phenomenon to campus - it's an experience one truly cannot miss!  A Lunar New Year feast will be served. Cultural activities such as lantern-painting, jegichagi games, tea ceremony, 12 Animal Zodiac Henna/Tattoo, traditional bookmark-making, and an educational presentation will be hosted by Horizons throughout the event as well.  There will be an exciting Raffle going on at Hamwill throughout the week of the event for a grand prize to be won on the Saturday event! Catch us at the Ham-Wil Tables. Don't know your animal zodiac sign? We can find out for you and get your zodiac tattooed for this special day. Want to know how tea is prepared traditionally? Need an exquisite bookmark for those books you're reading? Want to play the Korean Jegichagi games? We have it all -  Learn all about Lunar New Year with Horizons in this event on: Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 5:30-7:30 p.m. Ham-Wil Benes Room. Special thanks to CPB, WCSA, OMSA, and the DEI Office for their support in this culturally enriching event.
