Benes Room | Ham-Wil

What is a man, how does toxic masculinity show up in our society, and how can we continue to build better men? But, what does being a “better man” mean to you? Does that change in different circumstances? Who taught you what “being a man” means?

Join the IFC community on February 21st from 6pm-8pm in the Benes rooms for this conversation and you’ll be challenged to step out of your comfort zone. We’re chatting about the ways that masculinity, gender expression, and mental health come together and how we can commit ourselves to being better men. This event will give you the opportunity to reflect on how we observe these things in the fraternal space, and in society, while helping you consider how to move forward with being a positive force within the campus community and in your own life.

Guest speakers Chad Johns, Antron Mahoney, and Jason Timpson will take you through discussion from different lenses and perspectives on the history of toxic masculinity while guiding us to find ways to unlearn harmful perceptions that we may not have even realized that we were taught. All members of the OWU community who feel affirmed in a male space are welcome to attend to learn, grow, and reflect together.
