Frequently Asked Questions
Bills, Insurance, and Books
What is the tuition bill schedule and are there payment plans?
Student Accounts Office helps students and families navigate the sometimes complex issues of paying for a college education. Our services include payment plans, billing statements, financial counseling, and maintaining financial information for student accounts. Visit their website for information on tuition, deadlines, payment plans, and more.
What is the student health insurance, and can I waive that coverage?
All full-time OWU students are required to have health insurance to ensure access to healthcare resources when needed and to protect them from unexpected medical costs that could disrupt their education. To ensure that students have adequate insurance, all full-time students are automatically enrolled in coverage and a health insurance fee is posted onto their student accounts. Learn more about insurance, the fee, and the waiver process if you already have sufficient coverage.
How and when do I get my books and materials for classes?
To ensure that students have their books and materials at the beginning of the semester, OWU has partnered with Barnes and Noble for our First Day Complete program. This is a $360 fee for full-time and $168 fee for part-time students. Additional information on the program, fee, and opt-out options can be found on the webpage linked here.
