Favorite Jay Martin Story

One thing that always sticks out to me about Jay is how easy he is to approach. He goes up to dozens of people each day and greets them whether that's at Rike or on campus. Little things like that can really make a difference for people.
Also, it is evident that Jay still cares a tremendous amount about this program. He's won nearly 800 games and dozens of trophies, but he still comes to training and helps us in any way he can to make us successful.
On the Germany trip, it opened my eyes to how much of an impact Jay has made on hundreds of other people across the globe. The opening ceremony for our trip was held after our game at FC Oberkirchen. The club manager and Jay spoke to us and the opposing team while we ate. Our host families and other community members came to watch us play and listen to Jay speak. It was evident that they were excited to see Jay as it had been seven years since OWU's last trip to Germany.
During and at the end of our stay in Germany, the host families gave various gifts to Jay including hand drawn portraits and paintings. Throughout the trip, wherever we went Jay knew somebody. This resulted in a lot of really cool experiences in Germany that were only possible with the great relationships Jay and our program have! It seemed as everyone we talked to knew the great Jay Martin.
I appreciate everything Jay has done for me personally, as well as our team, and I look forward to winning some trophies this last year that the program has with him in the driver's seat!
