It is notable that 99% of current OWU students receive merit- or need-based financial aid. Our gifts have never been more important. Our 50th Reunion Class Gift will directly support the areas of greatest need at OWU, including student scholarships. Special thanks to Tony DiBiasio '74, Andi Waller '74, Joe Campbell '74, Greta Staley Robertson '74, and Cheryl Smith Benefield '74 for leading the Alumni College Session presentation on Friday of Reunion Weekend!

In a monumental moment during the weekend, the Class of 1974 presented the class gift of **$4,223,744.83** to President Matthew vandenBerg! This total represents gifts since our 45th reunion and planned gifts. **You can still contribute through June 30, 2024!**

We had 144 members of the Class of 1974, including 35 first-timers, attend our 50th Reunion Reception and Dinner on Saturday night!

Several alumni attended a special reception to recognize Justin Kronewetter and a gift made in his honor by Peter MacGill '74 and Susan Paulsen MacGill '80. The Ross Art Museum also displayed work by Denny Griffith '74 throughout the weekend.

We had fun taking over the Parade of Classes, complete with band t-shirts and John Lennon-style sunglasses!

In Memoriam

As Janet de Michaelis '74 shared at the class dinner, "No reunion is complete without remembering those in our class who are no longer with us. We celebrate their lives, and we cherish the joy and the memories that they gave to us. Gone, yes… but certainly not forgotten."

In our fraternity, a saying has been repeated many times over the past 54 years. Being a Phi Gamma Delta member, "is not for college days alone." Being an alum of Ohio Wesleyan has proven to have meaning well beyond those 4 years on campus. The connections made as a student, and those made over the past 50 years with fellow Bishops have made a significant impact on me and my family and I remain proud and grateful for these enduring friendships.

This is the last big round-up so I urge you all to come and visit with people you might never see again. I detect the normal shenanigans from our wayward class. The 50th Reunion should be on everyone's bucket list.

I am looking forward to our 50th OWU reunion for three reasons. First, to have fun. Second, to reconnect with many OWU friends from my past. The upcoming reunion has allowed me to reconnect with classmates from around the country. It has been hilarious and thought-provoking - what a diverse group. I tell new jurors during orientation that if they do not find this service to be one of the most rewarding in their life, to call me. The same applies to this reunion: if you do not have fun, if you do not laugh out loud at least one time or cry at least one time then call me up!
