Writing Salon with Melissa Febos
9:30-11 a.m.
LOCATION: Merrick Hall 202

Join bestselling memoirist and cultural critic Melissa Febos for a lively discussion on writing, elements of craft, and the affirming power of writing personal narratives. Febos–whose writing centers around themes of addiction, recovery, sex work, feminism, and her queer identity–will also discuss ways of cultivating a writer's life beyond undergraduate studies and how personal narratives function as acts of subversion capable of waking us to oppressive histories. This event is open to anyone interested in creative writing and the power of personal narratives–no experience in creative writing is necessary–and will be followed by a Q&A.
