Pollinator Gardens project involves several important subjects: environment, public art, student engagement and building community. There are many examples of similar initiatives on other campuses but what is unique for the OWU campus is the potential of connecting gardens with the existing outside campus artworks. Building distinctive places that can serve as teaching platforms, scaffold the connection between different disciplines and actively involve students in maintaining these places is a valuable way to create a meaningful academic and residential experience for students.
