OWU boasts a wide range of student activity organizations which offer membership and activities to all students on campus. In the Department of Performing Arts, there are four organizations that we sponsor and/or support.
Theta Alpha Phi
Theta Alpha Phi, the national theatre honorary society, is an organization which students and faculty earn membership towards by being involved in theatre/dance productions. Our chapter, the Ohio Alpha, was a part of the formation of this national organization in 1919. T.A.P. sponsors the annual talent shows, co sponsors the trip to the Stratford Festival, supports guest artists on campus, as well as other activities.
Wesleyan Players
Wesleyan Players is a less structured organization of students from across the campus who are bound only by a common interest in performance and production work. WP sponsors trips to area theatres and visitations by guest artists.
TerpsiCorps
TerpsiCorps Dance Group is the organization for students who are interested in dance. Membership is open and the group annually sponsors trips to see touring dance companies, supports guest artist master classes, and also helps produce the annual spring dance showcase of student work.
Babbling Bishops
Babbling Bishops is the OWU improv comedy group on campus. This independent student group is supported by the department, but they set their own agenda and regularly perform their brand of comedy at the Red & Black Review, Spring Cabaret, and on other occasions across campus. They conduct workshops in their techniques every fall.
