January 

  • January 30th from 12 PM - 1 PM - R.W. Corns Building, Room 203 - Preparing for the Woltemade Big Problem Challenge Workshop. RSVP HERE.
    • Prepare for the Woltemade Big Problem Challenge ($3,000 prize) with a workshop focused on brainstorming and building a basic business plan. This workshop will explain the goals and guidelines of the competition, and help you understand how to get started.

    • Line Upon Line Percussion is not just a musical ensemble; it's a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit within the realm of music. Founded on the principles of innovation and collaboration, this dynamic group has built its identity from the ground up. With a keen focus on the nuts and bolts of running a successful musical enterprise, Line Upon Line Percussion shares insights into their journey of creation and sustainability.

      Attendees can expect to gain invaluable insights into the day-to-day operations of a successful musical group, learning from Line Upon Line Percussion's experiences in balancing artistic integrity with financial sustainability. Whether you're an aspiring musician or a seasoned entrepreneur, their story is sure to inspire and inform, offering a roadmap for building and maintaining a thriving creative enterprise in today's competitive market.

  • March 26th from 12 PM - 1 PM - R.W. Corns Building, Room 203 - Google Professional Certificate Workshop #2. RSVP HERE.
    • Learn about Google Professional Certificates and how they can help you reach your career goals. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in a Google Professional Certificate Program for free (approximately $200 value), and possibly connect it to academic credit at OWU. For those who participated in GPC workshop 1, this will be a check-in and opportunity to get further guidance.

  • September 12th from 12 PM - 1 PM - Entrepreneurship Workshop #1 - Pitch OWU Workshop - R.W. Corns Building, Room 312 - No RSVP required. Lunch provided. 
    • Are you interested in participating in Pitch OWU but don't know where to start? Join us for our Pitch OWU Workshop!
    • What is Pitch OWU? 
      Do you have a big idea? Do you have a solution to a problem that you believe could change the world? Calling all OWU Students to apply for Pitch OWU, sponsored by The Woltemade Center! Compete against peers in various disciplines to pitch your idea to a panel of judges; the top three teams or individuals will receive funding to foster the growth of your ventures. Students can apply individually or as a team. There is a maximum of four team members per team. All majors are encouraged to apply. Grand Prize is $1,000. For more details, please visit: owu.edu/PitchOWU

Professor Matt Vollrath, Associate Professor of Business Administration, will moderate and highlight the many entrepreneurial programs at OWU. The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at Ohio Wesleyan University is located at 70 S. Sandusky St., Delaware.       • Come learn, network, and shop from local BIPOC-owned businesses and BIPOC student entrepreneurs and organizations who will promote their businesses during the Fall 2023 OWU Connection Conference. Free Food! This event is in partnership with The Woltemade Center for Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship; Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at OWU; and OWU Connection.   • September 29th - Deadline to apply for Pitch OWU! 

October 

  • October 25th from 7 PM - 9 PM - Pitch OWU - Merrick Hall Room 301 
    • Watch teams and individuals compete against peers in various disciplines to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges; the top three teams or individuals will receive funding to foster the growth of their ventures. Student teams are given five minutes to pitch, followed by three minutes of questions from the judges. For more details, please visit: owu.edu/PitchOWU
