Elections can be stressful. You may be worried about the outcome of the election and its effect on you and your loved ones. Or you may be overwhelmed by conflict and tired of negative political ads. There are many ways to manage your election anxiety, not just avoid it:

One way is to become more comfortable navigating conflict. Differences of opinions are healthy to a democracy. Being willing to learn from those whose opinions differ from yours is an act of bravery and compassion in a deeply polarized environment. To learn more about how to have constructive conversations, take the online Perspectives course from the Constructive Dialogue Institute. This course can help you learn how to reduce your anxiety around difficult conversations and help you have better conversations in all areas of your life—with your roommates, with your family, and in your future careers!
