Piano
  1. A four-octave major and minor scale (including all three minor forms), performed in 16th notes at a minimum tempo of quarter note = 92. Be prepared to play any of the scales in keys of up to three sharps or flats.

  2. Two selections from different style periods. Examples:

    • Baroque: a prelude or fugue from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier or a single movement from a Bach or Handel keyboard suite.

    • A sonata-allegro movement from a sonata by Haydn, Mozart (except K. 545), or Beethoven (except Op. 49).

    • A representative selection from the 19th, 20th, or 21st centuries.

Organ
  1. Two works from the organ repertoire: one from the 18th century and one from the 19th, 20th or 21st centuries.
  2. One short piano work that demonstrates the candidate’s piano proficiency level.
  3. One stanza of a hymn of the candidate's choice to be played on the organ.
